About Me

I’m Vicki, or Ar Cho (my nickname since childhood; it means “grass” in my native language).

I’m a bit slow to open up, but I genuinely love to learn and experience different cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was introduced to Couchsurfing by a college friend and we did several Couchsurfing trips together. I enjoyed the unique, personal experiences which I would never be able to experience if I travel on my own.

After graduation, I did not actively engaged in Couchsurfing as to me, it requires a lot of pre-planning, communications and flexibility which unfortunately I could not spare when I was doing trips in between my limited vacation days.

Now that I plan to leave my job behind and adopt a more free-style way of traveling, I would like to re-start Couchsurfing to see where the world brings me and to create more wonderful memories.

Interests

- Love nature. Love to feel how tiny human beings (and our problems) are when compared to the mother nature.
- I do analog photography and urban sketching every trip.
- Love food esp local cuisine, street snacks, etc. I tried crickets in Cambodia and it actually tastes OK.
- I collect postcards and I have probably collected more than 500 now.
- I do volunteer work at home (HK), usually related to children and environmental protection.

I could teach basic Chinese / Cantonese if you are willing to learn the most difficult language / dialect in the world
Ummm, if you don’t mind, you could also take my urban sketches?
