to get lost in new places
I love art, dream a lot and forget too easily, love life's randomness, adventures and surprises. I like to sing and dance though I really can't do either (sometimes I start humming and don't even notice it myself) and I would love to live as close as possible to the sea.
I can be a bit temperamental, solitary or at times melancholic, but lots of things make me happy (for example ice cream! And panda bears!).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment I can't host people, but I'd like to get a coffee or a drink with you, or even better, find an adventure of some kind.
I think it's a very beautiful idea. I don't care that much about the traditional sightseeing and I think that stories and unexpected things are much more interesting.
It also makes me very happy to think that there are so many people who are willing to share their home and thoughts and experiences with others.
Art and literature. Traveling, especially by the train, getting lost in new places and meeting wonderful mad people.
The ocean, sailing, endless summer nights and adventures. Elephants and cats.
New ideas, different cultures, different approaches to life.
Wandering aimlessly in the streets of new cities.
Storms. This complicated, confusing, irrational life.
Music, Movies, and Books
I can listen to any music I find inspiring and it really depends on my current mood. During the winter mostly classical, jazz and blues, Damien Rice, Leonard Cohen, William Fitzsimmons and . IIII Björk, Alt-J, Daughter, Beirut, The Strokes etc. The genre doesn't matter, if it moves something in me or if I can sing along.
My favorite movies at the moment are Lovers of the Arctic Circle and Blue Valentine, the movies of Wes Anderson and Tarkovsky.
I love good books, few of my favourite authors being Dostoyevsky, Tove Jansson, Fitzgerald, Jorge Luis Borges, Mihail Bulkagov, and Michael Ondaatje. Also Virginia Woolf, Anne Carson, Jeanette Winterson and bell hooks. The best book I've read for a long time is One Hundred Years of Solitude.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's difficult to choose, so I will choose the most recent: moving to Florence to find something new and beautiful
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm not sure if I have any special talents I could share (I have to think about this. I'd like to be able to teach something. Though I know something about art and history.), but I always love to learn new things even if it was about making pancakes, astronomy or how the universe works.
