ABOUT ME

Ok, a brief summary of our lives thus far. Worked too young, studied too late. Married too young, divorced not soon enough! That was my other life, very uninspiring but I did learn lots from it. New life started 8 years ago when my 30 year umbilical cord was cut, met my soulmate Caron 2 years after that and married August 2006. At the time of meeting Caron I also completely changed my career. Left my mundane job and studied to be an Occupational Therapist, now working in Mental Health and love it! Looking forward to being inspired by and inspiring other people as we journey through the trials and tribulations of this weird [yet wonderful?] life.

PHILOSOPHY

Paul: My mind never seems to turn off, I don't think there is enough time to ever do all the things I want to do or talk about all the things I am interested in. I want to learn how to live life to the full while balancing that with helping others to live their lives to the full.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are really getting into the idea of couchsurfing. Have hosted more than surfed but realise we can get just as much by bringing other cultures to us.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed in Portugal and Ireland and hosted several times now.

How to be happy. Fitness. Health. Martial Arts. Music. Tattoos. Motorcycling. Holistic therapies. Philosophy. Psychology. Guitar (been saying I am going to learn it for the past 4 years, I swear I will do it one day!) Carons NON-interests: 'soaps' the television (if I lived on my own I would not have one), shallow people, tabloid newspapers, celebrities, designer labels. I am also NOT interested in going through life just to gather more and more material items just to impress other people. Wealth to me is being able to enjoy a sunrise, rain on your skin, breeze through your hair etc etc not what type of car you drive, how large your house is, or what make of shoes you wear. To enjoy all these 'priceless' things makes me a very wealthy person indeed.I also try to appreicate that fact that I have enough food to eat every day, a roof over my head, a clean safe bed to sleep in every night, things most people take for granted, its all to easy to become complacent.I try to tread gently on the earth, only taking enough to survive and not taking the earths resources for granted. I'm very passionate about recycling and have even been known to bring recyclable items home with me from another country as it goes against the grain for me to throw something in a bin when it can be recycled. We do not own the earth, we are all just borrowing it for the short time we are here. I love to converse with people who make me laugh, who make me think, who make me question things, who make me cry and vice - versa. PS please make sure you read all the couch imformation section, this will be to your advantage.

Not really into TV or movies. Love music, all types; metal, punk, classical, techno, latin jazz. Not much I don't like so long as it doesn't abuse my ears!
Like reading about psychology and sociology. Fave book is Weaveworld by Clive Barker (amazing concept!), fave film is Shawshank Redemption.
