About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see the world and be a better person for it
ABOUT ME
I travelled around Europe a bit before settling in London for most of the last year, and am going on one final trip before returning home to Australia. I'm a curious person who loves learning about people and places. I'll probably be full of questions about your home town (and answers about mine, if you want them), but am just as happy to discover things on my own. I'm pretty easygoing and very social. I love a few drinks, but am not a big party animal.
I'm a single gay male, so if you aren't comfortable with that, please don't offer to host me. Straight guys, that doesn't mean I'll hit on you, and gay guys, that doesn't mean I'll sleep with you, but I know it's an issue for some people.
PHILOSOPHY
I stole the motto of Scotland's Urquhart clan, although my own distant Scottish ancestry is MacPherson: mean well, speak well and do well.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By being the best damn house guest I can be. I'm a very amenable guest - I can be social and chatty, but if you'd rather I kept to myself, that's no problem. Either way, I'm a clean and considerate guest. Living in a small apartment with my family precluded me from hosting surfers in Australia, but hopefully when I'm settled again I can open up my couch space.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Just once in Denmark so far, but it was an incredibly fun and informative few days.
Interests
Words, words, words! Reading, writing and editing. Cooking, history, music (listening to it and discussing it, I have no sense of rhythm and can't play anything myself), politics, picnics, travel, learning, communication, languages. Oh, and anything to do with Denmark. I'm a bit obsessed.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my favourite travel experiences was attending a dance party in Denmark's beautiful Royal Library. A bizarre and incredible night.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a pretty good cook, willing to whip up a meal for you or learn your local specialty. I also have an impressive but useless knowledge of music trivia, and will gladly stay up late discussing the merits of certain records if that's your thing.
