About Me

Hello!

I'm always looking to make the most of life - Grew up moving around allot and still have allot of inertia from that though love the idea of one day becoming more a part of a place.

I'm living an in-between time- Maybe the first of many- incessantly changed by each person i talk to reflected through the far flung echoes of our influences. Parsing meanings I've attempted to live , shedding the frills & adapting to form a praxis I can live by.

I try to be easy to host. I only really need a little floor space. I am happy to do things on my own though always appreciate company.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

all exp. i've had with CS has been positive.

I had an incredible time couch-surfing in New York for 2 months in the summer while doing an Architecture internship.

I hosted people in England whilst i was studying architecture there.

I couch surfed in Detroit 4 days to do research for a academic paper, carrying out interviews, exploring the city and talking to people .

I Couch surfed in Berlin and Vienna in between visiting old pals,

As a part of moving to Detroit i couchsurf'd for a month or so which proved to be a fantastic orienting experience through which ive made some of my strongest friends in the D.

I have since hosted couchsurfers in Detroit, one of which who came for the United States Social forum ended up moving here also!

I love couchsurfing but worry about whats happening to it. I wonder what it would take to turn it into a user run cooperative? I hope couchsurfing improves & is around for future generations.

Interests

Music, dance & dancing, discussions, art, design, biking, writing, reading, synesthesia, activism, collaboration.

My favorite way to learn is through discussion. I love the calibration then inferencing then hanging out in the canopy & even the occasional falling out of the tree.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies : Pina!, The 5th Element , Stalker (1979)

Last five books
The Aleph & Other Stories
The God of Small Things
Dune
Virtual Light by William Gibson
Feminism from Margin to Center by Bell Hooks

I've been a bit of a fanboy for leftfield electronic music since adolescence- Maybe less so now- but continue looking for different music that might resonate.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Biking at sunrise after staying up alll night.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love being able to teach & learn through the people around me. I like the idea of being a lifelong student & that teaching & learning happen where ever there is meaningful interaction.

I'm really into origami if you would like to learn that :)

I'm good with a few 2D /3D design programs if you want help with that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to help in anyway I can

-If we go driving I can pay for the gas :)

- Groceries - I like cooking - I'm not that great at it but sometimes come up with something interesting.

- I can help with basic bike maintenance also.
