Overview
About Me
Hi!
I'm Leah, I'm originally from Wisconsin (near Chicago) in the States. I've been in Europe for 16 months now and I'm currently an Au pair in Austria so I can learn German and experience the culture more authentically.
I love nature, food, art, and dancing (ballroom especially). I'm a huge animal person, and if I'm not looking at the cathedral in a beautiful city, I'm probably looking at the dogs. I'm very laid back and I'm also a pretty great cook! I love meeting new people and I've been told my English when I speak is very easy to understand. I studied Bible in both England and Austria, but I will soon go home and attend university for Psychology and Theater Performance with a minor in German.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think it's such an amazing opportunity to be part of a community that supports one another. I love meeting new people because it teaches you so much about the world and yourself. I have grown and become more the person I am today because of the inspirational people I have met. I also am not the richest person in the world, so to have a platform to help anyone travel is such a blessing!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all music types, but some of my favorites are jazz, classical, rap, folk, and alternative singer songwriter stuff
I am a huge fan of many movies, but I do enjoy documentaries, historical dramas, superhero/sci fi movies, comedies, and so on.
Books about social justice and change are some of my favorites (such as The Help, and Uncle Tom's Cabin). I really enjoy non-fiction and graphic novels as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
What a great question! I've done a lot of amazing things, but none I could have done without being incredibility blessed! Probably skipping the convention and going to live in Europe right out of high school instead of going to university right away... I've learned so much from my experiences and feel so much better equipped for my education.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach cooking, English, painting, ballroom dancing, piano, and swimming
I would love to continue to learn German and other languages! along with really any instrument (especially cello!). I absolutely LOVE learning about history, culture, and special things about your country.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Not much when it comes to material things... but I love cooking and painting for and with others. I will always be positive and open.
