ABOUT ME

I studied cultural anthropology and linguistics at the University of California, Santa Cruz and graduated in 2014. Working outside makes me very happy! My job is seasonal with the National Park Service in Kings Canyon National Park in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California. Next trip planned is to Buenos Aires and Iguazú, Argentina! Next big trip I hope to visit South East Asia. I like to laugh, cook and bake new and delicious things, go backpacking when I get the chance, which is all the time when I’m working, I love the beach, swimming in lakes, and the smell of the forest after a rain, and I like cool foggy weather even though my hair doesn’t. I travel where and when I can and it’s a great pleasure to meet others from all over the world who share the same passion.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had couch surfed in Chile, Argentina, Iceland and Portugal and it has left me with remarkable experiences and wonderful memories. I've had the privilege to host in San Francisco and it would be a great pleasure to pay it forward with future travelers once I have a home of my own :)

Jazz, swing, motown, classical, soul, oldies, blue grass, folk, music with many different instruments, just about anything funky and that makes you groove. As far as books... if it instantly gets me interested, I'll read it. My favorites are Into the Wild, The Language Instinct, Wisdom Sits in Places, Ishmael, Don’t Sleep There Are Snakes and The Little Prince. As far as movies go, I love em. I’ve seen a lot, my favorite genres are old horror movies including Hitchcock, I love Mel Brooks movies, comedy, satires, and good heartfelt underrated movies like Stand By Me, Sound of Noise, and Sidewalls.

I can share with you the secrets of some Argentine and Iraqi/Israeli cuisine ;) I can also teach you how to play Truco. I’d learn anything you’d have to teach me. The best gift from a host is to show me a glimpse of life as a local in the places I visit.
