Overview
About Me
I did a semester of exchange for university in Australia and decided I wasn't ready to go home after only 8 months abroad. Spent a year in New Zealand on a working holiday and a few months exploring Taiwan before heading home to Vancouver, Canada.
Of course, Canada couldn't keep me for long before I got antsy again. Left in January 2016 to travel Africa before moving to Scotland for another working holiday visa. Living the budget life to try and fit in as much of Europe into my free time as possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've heard lots of stories about couch surfing, both good and bad. I travel by myself most of the time, and while people say that the best way to travel is alone, I always appreciate the company I meet along the way. After all, the best way to see a new place is through the eyes of a local. Come be a tourist in your own city with me, I'm always on the market for new friends :)
Interests
Reading-it used to be that you could never find me without a book. Kids used to greet me with "read any good books lately?" (Yeah, I was pretty lame). Have slowed down a bit, but starting to pick up the habit of reading again.
Scuba diving-I love the experience of being under water. When I first started I thought I would feel panicked, but instead it's one of the most calming experiences.
Hiking and nature-I've spent quite some time on campgrounds and living out of vans. I've started cycling recently, and now I know why cyclists are all so intense - it's addictive!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: anything, except Ed Sheeran. We listened to an Ed Sheeran CD for 3 straight months while living out of a van in New Zealand.
Movies: any Pixar film. I ugly cried in a theatre when watching Up and Toy Story 3.
Books: lately I've been reading a lot of non-fiction, especially memoirs. I love how personal a memoir is.
