Overview
About Me
I'm a book junkie and karate kid with a serious case of wanderlust. I grew up on a farm in the Swarland area, lived in Stellenbosch for 13 years (so if you want some advice on the Cape Winelands...I'm your girl). I now enjoy the city life in Cape Town and am constantly discovering new things about my favorite city in the world!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Three reasons:
1) To help visitors experience my beautiful country. I would actually love to have a small bed and breakfast one day.
2) To enrich my own travel experiences by learning from locals
3) To save on accommodation while traveling
Interests
I love discovering new places, dogs (although I can't keep one at the moment), superhero movies, ballet, good coffee, fine wine and brandy, long lunches and train travel.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: not really tuned in to music - I'm a really big Alanis Morissette, but otherwise I listen to classical music and whatever is dished up on the radio. I like going to performances and recently saw Lumineers and Foo Fighters.
Movies: Some favorites: Midnight in Paris, The English Patient, all the X-Men movies, Terminator 2, Love Actually, Pan's Labyrinth and Frozen.
Books: My favourite writer at the moment is Lauren Beukes. Some others that I've enjoyed: Last night at twisted river - John Irving, War and Peace - Tolstoy and Life of Pi - Yann Martel.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Swam in the Baikal Lake in Siberia.
