Raise awareness of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

ABOUT ME

I used to be a Nomadic Ambassador until 2011 and then took some time out to do charity and awareness raising work.

In Feb 2011 I started to run 100 Marathons in 100 weeks to raise awareness of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I got to 44 and was ill and then 51 and have now completed 55 and that includes 2 24 hour runs and my longest of 81 miles in 17 hours.

In June 2012, I carried the Olympic Torch in my home city or the London Olympic Games and this was for the work that I do around mental health.

I now speak about a life of overcoming adversity and encouraging men to speak about Mental Health.

I have travelled to 57 countries and I love meeting people and exchanging views and thoughts and learning about other cultures.

PHILOSOPHY

Treat people as you would like to be treated. Accept when you are wrong and apologize. Listen to others advice and then take what you need. Learn every day from anybody. Smile and be thankful you are alive each day. Grab every opportunity you can. Take a leap of faith.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was here a few years ago and travelled for alomost 2 years and met some amazing people.

I hosted over 50 events including New Year in Rome in 2010 and had surfed with over 60 people.

I carried the Olympic Torch on 24 June 2012 in my home city of Leeds.
