About me;

I am from New Zealand and as an island, we are quite isolated from the world. Here in Europe there are so many cultures just a train ride away, so while I am here, there is so much I have to see.
I enjoy history, art: old and new, especially cultures and countries different from my own. I’ve come to realise that maybe I’m one of those people that enjoys travelling slightly more than average.

I try to travel as light as I can, and usually take just a camera, book, and sketch book, and just explore the town/countryside/Castle ruins in spooky woods.

Philosophy;

Psychology, philosophy, history, Aesops fables and those funny little Sufi tales are my influences. I’ve started to notice I quite like small stories which have more meaning than it first looks.

I randomly decided to give couch surfing a go in Germany for a few weeks on my first trip and made some great friends.

Interessen

I studied architecture so I love the the built environment in the big cities, and art, as I enjoy painting and sketching, and history: the main reasons for visiting many interesting European and Asia Minor cities as I can. I like photography, and enjoy spending the time trying to get a good photo on my travels. I snowboard or bike, when I have a mountain or a bike.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I like a lot of music, mainly stuff that just seems new and different. Lately my taste in music has strayed into some strange electro music from Russia...

I love books about early travelers, like the Ottoman traveller, Evilya Celebi, the roman traveller Procopius. It's great to visit places now after reading descriptions of them from hundreds of years ago.
Movies are cool. But I’ve heard it’s difficult to be a Pirate in Germany...
