I've spent a lot of my life travelling but have been living on the Olympic peninsular for 4 years now. I work in Port Townsend as a boatbuilder and a film-maker, and sail for fun.
I used to do an awful lot of hitch-hiking and sleeping on couches and floors around the world, so I figure I could offer the same!

Louis deBernieres, Tom Robbins, Alan Watts, Joshua Slocum, Hunter S. Thompson, Douglas Adams, Iain Banks, Hermann Hesse, Aldous Huxley, George Orwell, Jack Kerouac, Irvine Welsh, Barbara Kingsolver, Audrey Niffenegger.. Anything really.
As for movies, a couple of my favourite directors are Wes Anderson and Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Favourite recently watched film is black cat white cat.
And music?? I really wouldn't know where to start. I think you can find good quality enjoyable music from any genre imaginable. Jazz, rock, world, funk, latin, blues, hip-hop, metal, electronica, psychedelic, dance. I dont know... I could fill this little box with an endless list of artists and genres but i would never be happy with it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few years ago I rebuilt a little wooden boat in the UK and sailed it alone to the Caribbean, without electronic navigation or any engine. The voyage took ten months and was the most rewarding journey of my life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will make a good attempt at fixing almost anything.

I take great pleasure in general menial labour - send me out to prune the hedge and service your car.

I will wash up until my fingers look like prunes.

I can strum a gentle lullaby on the guitar.

Give me a saw and chisel and I can turn your kitchen furniture into a small sailing boat, so that when the sea levels rise, you can sail safely to Timbuktoo.

I can also keep myself to myself quite well, if appropriate!
