Open minded but skeptical. I make a rather serious first impression, but am actually pretty when opening up. After spending much time with Software Engineering I am now doubting whether that is what I want to pursue.

So I try to get some distance and perspective by doing, well, other things.

Travelling, obviously. I want to see so much more of the world.
Last year I started martial again arts after a longer pause. Tried Krav Maga.
I like to run. I did a half marathon a few years ago, and still want to someday do a full marathon. While living in the US I quite enjoyed hiking in the Sierras, Yosemite, Big Sur and most of all Yellowstone.
I love movies. Have spent half my time at university probably just watching movies. Not only current ones but also old ones, I actually tried to watch all of IMDBs top 250 movies. Almost there, haha. The latest greatest for me was The Martian.
I'm a little geek as well. Although I no longer think that the academic career is something for, I'm always amazed by the scientific progress and love to go to science and technical museums.
Recently started to become interested in Photography as well. Goes well with travelling.

Daft Punk's Tron is a good description of my taste of music. I enjoy Oliver Koletzky and Morten Granau from the electronic scene but also like to listen to a lot of pop music while never knowing what the song is called that I am currently listening to.

I am a fan of the classics and some of my favorite movies are many decades old. Yojimbo, Stalker and Dr Strangelove are just a few. Basically everything from Kubrick, many of Andrei Tarkovskies and Akira Kurosawas movies are on my favorites list.

Kind of a sucker for dystopian entertainment. Fahrenheit 451, 1984,
Big fan of Goethes Faust, but only the first one. Lots of Hesses work like Steppenwolf, Siddharta and The Glas Bead Game.

I used to be a very introverted and shy guy, still am to a certain degree. Never would have thought that one day I would be travelling around the world. I think it's hard to understand how difficult it is to get out of that state of mind and make the step to leave one's safe place and start to go out into the world with all its risks but also chances and prospects it gives you.

I can probably teach you some stuff about computers.
During my stay in the US I was doing Krav Maga and got to the second belt.
Working on my critical thinking skills. Biases. Causation does not equal correlation.

I started learning Spanish, and for my road trip I am getting familiar with digital photography. Want to learn top rope climbing and do some bouldering. For my stay in Honduras I plan to learn scuba diving. A motorcycle licence is also on my to-do list.

I am excited to try new things and to learn new skills.
