CURRENT
I have just spent two years teaching in China and I'm about to embark on a South East Asian adventure with my beautiful girlfriend. I have travelled this part of the world before but I'm looking forward to seeing it in a new way, with new eyes (I mean my eyes, not somebody else's eyes).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used couchsurfing for a year whilst on my travels in 2007. I think/thought it is/was an amazing idea! So much potential for new experiences and meeting new people.

Interests

i love to draw and listen to music. i am happiest just walking round not really knowing where i am going, i tend to get into more interesting situations this way.
im a man of simple tastes and find good things in most situations.

Music, Movies, and Books

my favourite bands are spacemen 3, lightning bolt, boards of canada, the durutti column, Daniel Johnston, spiritualized, white mice, aphex twin, teenage fanclub, anything that i dont think is rubbish to be honest.
i love the godfather and lord of the rings trilogies, trainspotting, last temptation of christ, naked, but no rom coms or hollywood blockbusters as they tend to be over the top.
i had my i-pod stolen so ive been reading a few books. ive read 'the damage done', 'a short history of nearly everything', 'siddharta' but generally i like to read science magazines and viz comic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

the 1 amazing thing i have seen in my lifetime was Saturn and the Andromedda gaklaxy one night last year.
i was walking on a reservoir near where i live and an astronomical society were meetin there. i asked if i could look through the telescope and this man showed me some unbelievable things. Tiger leaping gorge and large parts of China are pretty amazing!
