ABOUT ME

I'm recently retired and find myself busier than ever! I’m a grandmother to Betsy (3) and Rafferty (6 months) a role that I love and one that feels such a privilege. I am inspired to make a difference during this time on our beautiful planet. I grow my own vegetables (all organic) and I’m interested in creating a better world that my heart knows is possible.

Buckminster Fuller outlines my objectives succinctly:

To make the world work for 100 per cent of humanity in the shortest possible time through spontaneous co-operation without ecological offence or the disadvantage of anyone€.

PHILOSOPHY

Live life fully because you're not getting out alive!!

Anything is possible.

Once the seal is broken, the seal is broken.

There's nothing wrong - just something missing.

Nothing works in isolation.

That was then... This is now.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm the 'go to' person for a kindly word, and inspirational support, grounded in a 'you can do that' attitude.

I'm a doer, I love collaborating, building community and making good things happen. I love anything (and anyone) who bucks the 'system' and chooses to stand in 'what's possible' by moving away from the terminal normality that seems to be all pervasive these days, and forging a different path.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Over the years I've really enjoyed meeting and hosting people, I have made several friends in this way. I haven’t couched myself - yet, maybe this year, I will take part in being a guest.

Interests

I love food of all types (apart from saturated fats, offal or organs). I'm a sometimes meat and fish eating vegetarian-vegan. I created a pop-up veggie plot in 2020 and I love growing/sharing my organic produce.

Playing with my grandchildren is just the best! Walking, cycling, dancing, singing, messing about, dressing up and having a good laugh is important to me. Life is so short.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh, I love a good romantic comedy, period drama or anything inspirational.

I love all kinds of music, really enjoy pushing the boundaries of my listening and tastes too.

Books are mostly inspirational, self development or biographies. I have written 4 books but not had them published yet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Becoming a parent and latterly a grandparent, is the most amazing experience so far.

Working with some of the great Formula One racing drivers of our time - Senna, Prost, Mansell, Piquet etc.. Travelling the world and being a part of that whole scene was pretty amazing at the time.

Being a racing driver myself was pretty cool too!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to share in all things, whether I understand them, or not. I love exploring food, being well, growing my own, tips on survival and living easy. I have experienced so many things throughout my career and life - happy to share, listen and learn.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I offer a large and comfortable bed in a small and cosy cottage. I also have a comfy camper with a double bed, and a beautiful cabin with a double bed too. Friendship and sharing, plus wholesome food are on offer too. A place to stay, a place to rest, a happy space and a place to be.
