Just an average guy from the North East of Scotland in a wee town called Macduff. I used to live in China for 3-4 years, most of that in Beijing, and the other portion in a place called Heqiao between Wuxi and Yixing of Jiangsu Province. Then covid happened, and I moved to Querétaro, Mexico where lived with my lovely wife, Sofía, before we set off on adventures together across the world. These days we're usually either in Da Nang, Vietnam or Chiang Mai, Thailand.

To meet new people. I don’t know how to make it sound more exciting but I’m not here to use you as a “cultural experience” for my holiday or whatever - just interested in meeting genuine people.

兴趣

I love movies! I studied animation at university before dropping out, so I’ve done modules on film studies, reading about and watching cinema from around the world is something I’m passionate about. I’m particularly fond of the filmmakers Wong Kar-Wai 王家衛, David Lynch, Paul Thomas Anderson, Edward Yang 楊德昌, Lee Chang-dong, Akira Kurosawa, Masaki Kobayashi, Jim Jarmusch, Wim Wenders, Mike Leigh, Michael Haneke etc. Honestly don’t talk to me about movies or I’ll never shut up.
I also love food, if there’s one thing I’ve got a million questions about your country it’ll be all the different sorts of culinary delights you have. Being from a country that’s (in)famous for deep frying a Mars Bar I’m not sure there’s much I can exchange back to you in this respect.
And I enjoy hiking quite a bit too.
