CURRENT MISSION
Making my way down to La Paz!
ABOUT ME
I love words. I love to meet new people, especially people from backgrounds completely different to my own... which is pretty much White British Middle Class Male. I'm always happy to try new things and want to experience as much of the world and of other people as possible. I fidget a lot. I adore listening to music through good speakers, all sorts of music, and I love playing guitar or piano or anything I can get my hands on and make a noise with.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is more fun if you play games.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new, so I don't really know. Hopefully it will be one huge cultural exchange, fostering greater understanding between cultures, creating a global network of like-minded people who, as a result of their exposure to different cultures, are much less likely to vote for governments who drop bombs on people. I'm also hoping that this whole thing will reinforce my opinion that the vast majority of people are well decent.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Quite a lot. The worst was in Lupton, Leeds, in the then notoriously dilapidated student halls. I stayed with a friend from Newcastle, a proper Geordie (but a genius nonetheless), sleeping on his floor which was covered in jelly babies and gummy bears. The worst thing was waking up and realising that the awful smell in the room was a decomposing chicken carcass that he had been keeping on his windowsill for the last two months.
The best was probably sleeping on my nan's sofa and being waken up by the smell of her cooking breakfast. Fantastic.
Interests
Words - so writing, talking, reading books, poetry, graffiti... anything.
Music - everything again, listening and playing.
Moving - all kinds of sports, anything that involves running around or jumping about. I've been in football and rugby for teams since I was a little kid so I can hold my own there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Had a mono e mono situation with a killer ram. I'm still standing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I speak English, French, and Italian so I could help people with these. Unlikely that anyone would be interested, but I am a competent Arc welder, so if anyone wants to learn this exotic skill, I'd be happy to help.
