About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Acclimate myself fully to my new home in Tokyo. I grew up in the forests of California and spent the last 5 years teaching English in rural Japan, so this city life is a big change for me!
ABOUT ME
I'm an American living in Japan, newly married to a Japanese national, focusing on my passion of illustration.
When I visit a new place, what I love to do most is just walk and absorb a sense for my new environment.
I love to talk and think aloud with anyone who will humor me, and am interested in hearing and learning anything and everything from new people I meet.
PHILOSOPHY
Never be certain. I always try to be open and ready to realize that what I thought I was sure about isn't how "things are" after all.
I try to be positive and help effect others in a positive way as much as possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing opens up so many options for travel! Being anywhere new feels better being with someone there to be a new friendly face, and I love getting a deeper look into the places I visit through meeting hosts.
When I was hosting in rural Japan it meant so much to hear guests--who would likely have never made it out to such an "untraveled" location otherwise--say they had a good time and were happy they came.
