About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to see the world in all its beauty, and hopefully leave it a little bit better when I go

ABOUT ME

I am a third year university student at Iowa State University in the United States. I fell in love with the world and now I want to see as much of it as possible. I have been studying for the past semester at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. In a year and a half I will be graduating, and then - who knows? I am interested in international health and development, and hope that I can work all over the world.

PHILOSOPHY

other people are the most interesting, most important thing we have in this world.

Interests

Books, languages, travel, music, gardening, sustainability, public health, political science, peace studies.

Music, Movies, and Books

I will read (almost) anything when it comes to books. I love many types of music too, although I've never gotten into country or 'gangsta rap'. If you like a band called Stars, we'll probably be great friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While roadtripping in Namibia with 5 other international students from Stellenbosch University, we camped on a beach near Luderitz. It may or may not have been an actual campsite...but after a braai on the beach we got to see an amazing sunset over the atlantic ocean, fall asleep to the sound of wind and waves, and wake up to a brilliant sunrise over the desert.

Teach, Learn, Share

Things I can share:
-how to say a few phrases in isiXhosa(one of South Africa's 11 national languages)
-how to make an origami paper crane

Countries I’ve Visited

Namibia, Swaziland, Uganda

Countries I’ve Lived In

South Africa
