About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to be in the world and not of the world.

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in the mid-west of the US, in the city of Milwaukee, by two wonderful parents who filled me with a cultural awareness and a love of people.

I recently spent 4 months in Uganda, working with orphans, ex-child soldiers & ex-sex slaves and researching foreign aid and how to run an effective NGO at an orphanage called Village of Hope.

I’m at the University studying Social Work, with a little bit of Global and Peace Studies on the side.

My dreams include: to one day live in the developing world and start and orphanage, to one day visit Lebanon, the land where my ancestors are from, and to learn what true community is.

I enjoy a good cup of coffee and an interesting conversation over a night out partying. Board games, scavenger hunts and watching Planet Earth are always a good way to spend an evening. I’m trying to live in an environmentally sustainable and simple way, to find joy in the beautiful simplicity of life, and to appreciate all different people and cultures across the world.

PHILOSOPHY

All people are great. I’ve met people from all over the world working with the International Community on my campus, and the one thing I’ve learned most is that everyone has something to offer, and every culture is valuable in it’s own way.

"Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God." -Micah 6:8

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed in Edinburgh & Glasgow, Scotland with some amazing people who I think I'll stay friends with forever! I love the connections we made over a few short days.
Haven't hosted yet, but hope to someday when I have suitable arrangements.

Interests

I love cooking, good (vegetarian) food, drinking coffee, walks in the woods, hiking, camping, nature, sipping tea in the late afternoon, reading, school, muffins & chocolate chip cookies, adventures, biking, laying under the stars, new places, getting mail, gardening, and learning new ways to live simply.
