About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to travel as much as possible and learn about other cultures!

ABOUT ME

I am 20 years old and am currently trying to finish my undergraduate degree. I live in Charlotte, North Carolina but am originally from Himeji, Japan. I am really easy going and generally love to learn about other cultures, espcially through trying new foods anywhere I travel to!

PHILOSOPHY

I live for the moment and I like not knowing what is ahead of me in the future. Being around friends and family and just being happy is the best way to enjoy life, so that is exactly what I try to do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just joined the community, but I hope to host people who are interested in visiting Charlotte. I have been living in Charlotte for 13 years, and know the area pretty well. I think the best way to experience a new place is to do what the locals do, and that is why I love the idea of couchsurfing.
I haven´t traveled much within the US, would love to travel across the country, and I think couchsurfing would be such a great place to find people to show me around the places I visit.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience couchsurfing was in Vicenza, Italy with a family. I was travelling with two friends, one of whom had couchsurfing experience. I absolutely loved the idea of couchsurfing and we ended up couchsurfing again in Milan. I met some amazing people while surfing, and want to promote couchsurfing so more people will get involved.

Interests

I love to cook and bake, especially Japanese food. I like all sorts of music, but my favorite artist is Paul Weller and I even traveled to Canada to see him in concert. I want to travel as much as I can, and am open to going anywhere. In my free time, I like doing little art or crafts projects. I paint or make things to decorate my room, or make things for friends sometimes.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music, but some favorites: Paul Weller, Stereophonics, Talking Heads, Elvis Costello, Beatles, The Smiths, The Jam, The Cure, Kings of Leon. I love 80s pop when I´m in a really good mood, or listening to Enya when I want to relax and take a nap. I guess the music depends on my mood.
My favortie movies: Billy Elliot, Tampopo, Trainspotting, Death at a Funeral.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A lot of the amazing things I have seen or done come from my travels. Driving through the mountains in Abetone, Italy had one of the most amazing views I have ever seen. Visiting Morocco and experiencing a culture that is so different to anything I have seen before was very eye opening and exciting for me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn more about the different cultures in southeast asia. I have always been interested in visiting, and would love a chance to see life as a local lives.
