We are a family of four with two kids and live here in the US since almost three years. We are here for a limited time due to my husbands work and have to go back to Germany (Blackforest) next year and take with us all the great memories of our experiences here in the USA.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We want to couchsurf to get in contact with the locals and learn more about this great country. We hope to meet family friendly hosts who are interested in sharing about their homes/ citys/ favourite places and things to do. Ideally they have small kids on their own to play with. There is nothing more dull than a Hotel or Motel for little kids so we like doing couchsurfing. We had so many great experiences so far. If you are lucky you can make friends for life. I also really like the saying "strangers are just friends you haven't met yet" instead of the more common "stranger danger".

Interests

I like doing all kinds of things in the kitchen. I love to bake bread and cakes. Everything that involves making dough makes me very happy. I got into Indian cooking here in the US since most of our neighbors are from India and always feed me delicious food. Since I had to leave all my craft supplies and my sewing machine back in Germany I don't do that much crafting lately. Also we are too busy exploring the country and enjoying the Jersey Shore.
My husband really likes to run and bike. Here in the US he got into Triathlon and enjoys doing lots of sports.
He really motivated me to start running and I really like it. I am currently training for my first half marathon. I also enjoy Yoga in addition to the running. It makes me feel so grounded and elevated at the same time.

Music, Movies, and Books

as a new mom there is no time for reading...i fall asleep before i make it through a full page.
We like to listen to all kinds of music. My husband plays the saxophone and guitar, i play french horn.
