ABOUT ME

Our two boys are raised and on their own, for the most part, now. We have three funny dogs, 35 mph couch potatoes. Tom is a group exercise instructor teaching at four or five different fitness facilities. He does this on the side in addition to his Software Management "day job". For most of my career I've been a software/business analyst and am now focusing on taking care of my lovely parents, such angels on this planet! Tom grew up in Michigan and is oldest of four. I am 7th of 9 so am used to having lots of people to share life with.

We mostly host visitors from around the world, but occasionally couchsurf, too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've hosted several people before we joined CS and now we have expanded by adding official CS people to the list - its been a lot of fun meeting surfers. I've met a few CouchSurfing hosts as well and it seems we share a culture that is generous, open and trusting of others. I like people who are like that! (-:

Music, Movies, and Books

Love reading about alternative medicine and nutrition related articles; plus ideas for assisting the elderly. Some of the music I like: Lorena McKennet, Josh Groban, IZ, Cheryl Crow, and other somewhat mellow artists (: Lively percussion music is great too. We're both chickens when it comes to scary movies… we don't watch 'em; but we like other non scary stuff like old Shirley Temple movies - haha ...Not

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Elephants! such lovely large creatures. In Thailand one of these neat fellas picked me up with his trunk while I hung on to his tusk (his trainer was there coaching him) and the Elephant was so gentle and emitted such a serene comforting energy. It was like a spiritual experience or other worldly--so peaceful. Its hard to describe just how cool the feeling was.

Teach, Learn, Share

We can share how we got Hula, our whippet, shown at competitive dog shows until she gained enough points for her grand champion title. Tom can tell you all about group fitness from an instructor's point of view, or even get you into a class. Engineering your specialty? Well, this is Silicon Valley and Tom is a software engineering manager. We love to hear all about your stories and travels!
