About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to give travelers a comfortable place to rest. Share our travel experiences with one another. Perhaps inspire me to visit a place I may not have considered. Explore who who are as people on the same planet, not as citizens of a country.
ABOUT ME
I am a 60 yo retired guy who loves to travel, meeting people along the way. I like to celebrate our diversity of culture and language and ethnicity. We are all different and yet the same, with similar hopes and dreams.
PHILOSOPHY
Despite what may be political or cultural differences, we are all really the same. Our goals, what makes us happy, be it a good beer, music, football, a love of nature, are universally shared and enjoyed and help to illustrate that we are basically the same.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love to travel by bicycle, it physically challenges me and puts me in touch with people I might not have met otherwise. When home I like to share my world with others, to perhaps enrich their travel experience. I have found that often it's memory of the kindness of people you've met that you remember most.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have met many interesting hosts in Europe. The generosity of the people I have met has inspired me to try to pass on their kindness.
Interests
I enjoy playing outside biking, hiking, canoeing, being outside enjoying nature in all its beauty. I like to read about history and enjoy music of all types.Traveling by bike is most enjoyable. It allows me to met people along the way, enriching my experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As a Phila firefighter working in the rescue ambulance, I witnessed (six times)the beautiful and inspiring childbirth event. Thankfully all was well. I felt honored to be a part of the beginning of a persons life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would hope that my guests are able to leave with the memory or experience of having had a positive enjoyable time in my home. This could be as simple as a good nights sleep, an enjoyed shared meal or good conversation. To nurturer the body as well as the mind.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I live in a wooded area on a large creek above Phila Pa. When I am home I would share the outdoor opportunities with my guests , such as fishing, swimming or canoeing. A train a twenty minute walk could take you to a train that can take you to Phila. to enjoy its art, culture and history.
