I am a young man keen on exploring the world. I especially love being active and out in nature through walking, cycling or climbing. But nothing gets me as excited seeing other cultures up close: dance, music, food, languages, architecture, traditional clothing... I hope to find some new impressions and perspectives!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm trying Couchsurfing for the first time this month on a solo trip to Armenia. I hope that through Couchsurfing I can get closer to local people and other travellers.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm old school when it comes to music. Generally I listen to a lot of folk-inspired singer-songwriters like Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, Paul Simon... You can also never go wrong with Dire Straits. I like country music as well, but it's gotta be the good kind ;) like Johnny Cash or Gillian Welch.
I'm currently reading Vasili Grossman's "An Armenian Sketchbook" and am also really into Latin-American magical realism (Gabriel García Marquez, Isabel Allende, Jorge Luis Borges)
I love the movie Amélie, was really into Lord of the Rings as a boy but my favourite movie is the cult classic Garden State.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have climbed all kinds of small mountains, rocks, trees and buildings but I believe the best is yet to come :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Exchanging travel experiences would ofcourse be nice, as well as some good old conversation about other topics. It could be nice to share some music with each other and I can also teach you some Dutch and French words. Even swear words if you like :)
