About Me

see the world!!!

I grew up in paris, in the very center of the city. I feel very parisian, I'm really in love with my city eventhough there is something sometimes boring in here that has led me to travel quite a lot.
I grew up in a family where people are used to travel around the world, that's maybe why travelling remains so important to me! Eventhough I don't speak swedish, I'm a quarter swedish, and my family is spread all over Europe, in Italy, Sweden and France.
I'm currently in a gap year. So after spending 4 months as an intern in a french radio called France Culture, I am planning to travel a bit and improve my skills in Chinese. I am very interested in China and chinese culture since the first time I visited China as a tourist, in 2007. Since that first glimpse of China, My interests were focused on chinese urban issues. I'm indeed a student doing urban studies, that is why I'm interested in chinese megacities.
I'm a very easy-going person, used to live in community as I was raised up with two little brothers, and as I've shared my apartments with friends and family for the last 4 years.

I don't think I have a personal philosophy, (even if I have values) as I'm a quite pragmatic person.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I've been using CS mostly in the USA, 3 years ago. Since 2009 I was not able to travel a lot, or when I did I went to see my family or friends. Actually I don't travel anymore if I don't have a real reason to do it. I'm not really interested anymore in doing basic tourism, I prefer to discover countries and culture with a different way.

During the summer 2009 I was hosted in California, both in SF and in LA by amazing people who welcomed us (me and the friends I was travelling with at that time) during a few days, as we were doing a road trip in California. We also went to some motels because we wanted to experience both sides of living in California, along the road, and at the people's homes that we met.

I'm interested in understanding how people live... that's why i'm especially interested in urban studies and in cultural studies!
I love cinema, and I'm a big watcher of old movies (before the 80s...)
I love cooking and enjoy good things! Maybe that's because I was raised in Paris in a family that loves cooking...

Music, Movies & Books

I've just read the Confederacy of Dunces, from John Kennedy Toole, and it's great. During my trip in China I'm planning to read again a great classic from french literature, "A la recherche du temps perdu". Sounds cliché, but who cares...

One Amazing Thing I've Done

swim with a dolphin. no, i'm joking. I really don't know how to fill this.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you french if you want to. Actually I'm giving geography classes in France to make some money, so if you have a sudden need of a private class about urban changes or things like that, I'm your man. Or I'll try to be...
I can teach you french cuisine, I am a pretty good cook, and I must confess, it's a good way to seduce people and make friends when you're abroad.

Countries I've Visited

China, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States

Countries I've Lived In

China, France
