About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Explore the world as much as I can

ABOUT ME
Fun loving and adventurous HKU student, moviegoer, foodie

PHILOSOPHY
Honestly, as a graduate-to-be, I still haven't figured out what I'm going to do in the future. In Hong Kong, most of the graduates try to find a job in financial sectors or become MT for big firms. It is very rare that you can hear someone say "I want to be a writer" or "I want to start my own business", as if these are impossible options. I don't want to like them but at the same time I'm not sure I can make it if I choose a different path. That's why I apply for an exchange, to explore the world where people are comfortable to say "I am a blogger. I make short videos online" or "I am an reporter in Washington", where you can be anything you want as long as you work hard enough for it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

"Friends are strangers who know you"

I once had an internship in Shanghai. My host is an Italian who has various interests. We played chess. We went to clubs. We traveled to Indonesia together. That was the first time I discovered the joy of traveling and making friends during the journey.

I think the beauty of using Couchsurfing lies on the possibility that you may meet great people with different backgrounds and make friends with them, that you may explore something most tourists do not have a chance to experience, e.g. going to private parties and tasting the home-made food prepared by locals.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed two volcanoes- Mount Bromo & Kawah Ijen in three days when I were in Indonesia. We got up at 3 in a freezing morning and started climbing so that we could see the sunrise. After the first one, my host and I hired a driver to Kawah Ijen. We slept on the car and when we got up, we had to climb another one. The electric-blue flames erupt from volcanoes were stunning, but toxic at the same time. There were no stairs, just rocks. I'm glad I didn't fall off when I climb down.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Mandarin or Cantonese if you like.
I watched a lot of movies and I do film studies in college. We can discuss movies,TV series, talk shows, etc.
