I am teaching communication at the moment and freelancing as a Journalist.

ABOUT ME

Hello there :) I am from Albania - a small Mediterranean country in south-east Europe, close to Italy and Greece. My family ancestry is mixed (Albanian and German) but I was born and grown up in Albania, and later studied and lived for several years abroad (Scandinavia, UK and USA). Traveling is one of my passions in life; I have been so far in 29 countries, in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America.

I spent a whole year in USA as a Fulbright Scholar (2012-2013) and had the opportunity to travel and explore both the east and the west coast. I had a couple of couchsurfing experiences in California, which were brilliant; the people I met were wonderful and very hospitable. I believe some genuine bonds of friendship were created, and I look forward to host my couchsurfing hosts in Albania.

At the moment I am still on the move; am exploring a totally different part of the world - the Caspian region. I ha€™ve been stationed in Baku since August 2013; I teach communication here. I'd like to take advantage of my current location and explore other places/countries around this region.

Understanding other people€™'s culture, traditions and history fascinates me. It is always a joy to get to meet and know new and interesting persons from different parts of the world. I strongly believe on the saying: " The best things in life are the people you love, the places you have seen and the memories you have made along the way".

By the way, Albania has some of the most beautiful - and yet unspoiled - beaches of the Mediterranean Sea, and was one of World's Top 10 destinations for 2012, according to the Lonely Planet ! ;)

I was introduced to this website/project by one of my colleagues and teachers at the University of Maryland (USA); he is an active member of CS in College Park, MD (USA).
