About Me

I am interested in a lot of things (as everyone else apparently). I enjoy long discussions about any topic and try to search for the interesting in everything and everyone I encounter.

I love dancing salsa, jiu-jiutsu (martial art is not too different from dancing if done correctly), long-boarding, programming, learning languages, deep talking and provocative discussion.

I am a physics major in my master studies in Heidelberg, but might shift to either the neuroscience or the artificial intelligence field soon.

I would describe myself as follows:
creative, curious, open-minded, scientifically rational, but somehow also highly emotional and attached to people (I am not quite sure myself how my rational and emotional side fit together) , enthusiastic and optimistic, hopelessly honest, ambitious and always looking to challenge myself

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I developed a taste for traveling in my exchange year in Taiwan, which served as a good base to explore Asia. There I got fascinated by the idea of moving through the world and exploring. Back in Heidelberg I moved together in a shared flat with my friends, who joined the CS community before me and so we were constantly having CS guests for quite some time. Now I want to try it myself.
I am a curious nature and discovered traveling as a good means to learn and share thoughts. An adventure seemingly possible on a normal daily-life basis is staying at home and letting inspiring people come to you.

Music, Movies, and Books

I appreciate "South Park" for its honest and true sarcasm, "Breaking Bad" for the moral discomfort it puts you in and "West World" for the transhuman vision.

"Some people choose to see the ugliness in this world, the disarray. I choose to see the beauty. To believe there is an order to our days. A purpose." - Dolores (Westworld)

My favorite reads are "Sherlock Holmes" (as one of my idols), "1984" and "Royal Game", but I am always open for a recommendation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Roadtrip through the breath-taking National Parks on the West Coast of the US

Teach, Learn, Share

A (maybe a bit different) view on the world, I can teach you machine learning and neural networks (haha ok by now you should know I am a nerd). I am also willing to learn anything and willing to share my couch and towel.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would like to not only share my couch with you (of which we have plenty in our apartment, just look at the pictures), but to share my thoughts and opinions with you. As I am doing an internship in the moment, so I only have time the evening though. However, I am living in busy shared flat with 5 people (who are part of the CS community as well) and are always up to hanging out as well. I hope I can give you an inspiring stay in the beautiful city of Heidelberg. I can share a view at the romantic Heidelberg castle (more of a ruin actually) from our rooftop.

By the way I think Europe should count as one country, otherwise the list down below would be just to long and messy.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Hong Kong, Laos, Russian Federation, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam
