About Me
Brazilian from Rio de Janeiro, first time solo backpacking!!
I’ve recently quit my job, so I took the opportunity to join my life partner’s backpack in Europe after her one year Erasmus. We visited Germany, Netherlands, UK and France together, then she went back to Brazil, but I still got two more weeks in Europe.
I would love to live a couple of seasons in other countries, but Rio de Janeiro is my definite home. Its nature, culture and people are irreplaceable for me. I love my city beaches, waterfalls, hikes and also unique parties and carnival.
I love meeting new people, their culture, art and life proposals. I am an engineer who believes arts is what worths for living… love playing guitar, doing circus acrobatics and cooking for family and friends!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music 🎶
My favorite music style is Brazilian popular music, mainly samba!! Rio de Janeiro has the best samba parties ever and would be very glad to show you anytime :) buuut I also love international music, and I’m very eclectic: rock, reggae, pop are my favorites but I still appreciate a lot jazz, rap and all. One of my favorites things to do is learning on guitar songs I like to listen to.
Listen to Vamos Fugir - Gilberto Gil and The Whailers
Movies 🎥
Brazil won its first Oscar last year!! I’m Still Here and Central do Brasil, both from from Walter Salles are my favorite movies. I try to avoid Hollywood’s blockbusters, but still fail sometimes 😬
Books 📚
My favorite book is also Brazilian (who would expect 😅), Capitaes da Areia from Jorge Amado. I also love Gabriel Garcia Marques work, being Cien años de soledad my favorite. Other books that I consider really important are 1984 and Brave New World

Teach, Learn, Share
My first job, at 16, was as a maths teacher!!
It would be great if you showed me good spots in your city, hikes, nature and city marks are very welcome
I love sharing my knowledge, I can teach some music, mainly guitar, and I would also love to teach how to cook Brazilian food :)
I’m also very into sports, any! I would love to learn or practice a new sport or one that I haven’t been practicing
What I Can Share with Hosts
I make a delicious Brazilian dish - Moqueca com Pirão - a fish or plantain with dendê oil and coconut, alongside with cooked cassava flour in the moqueca broth with a thick consistency
