About Me
Hi, I'm happy you got to my profile!
I come from Italy, where I have lived for about 22 years.
I can also speak English with Italian accent and English with French accent (test me on that one).
I wish I could do the German one too, but that is black magic and I'll never fully learn it.
I enjoy discussing actual topics,
but love to put a sprinkle of absurdity in conversations,
the world is too cold and deterministic otherwise.
I also like to play music and dance.
I'd be happy to meet you if you step by Lausanne, Switzerland,
that's where you'll find for the biggest part of the year nowadays.
Just make sure not to write me a copy-paste message. I think the main point of CS is not the free accommodation, and if you can't find anything personalized to tell me, it means I'm not the right host for you.
See you around :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music
I like the mix series For Home Use Only, Unrushed or Music From Memory, to name a few.
Music for me usually has to be without words, since I listen to it at work and I want to pay attention to work and not the music. But also, lyrics are generally bad, so I typically don't want to hear the words :)
Also, I prefer mixed music to singles. A mix has more time to develop a story and take you somewhere.
Dancing genres that I like are techno (not EDM, techno) and trance, or anything that I can listen to at an ecstatic dance.
Or also Fabrizio de Andrè, Ennio Morricone, and other italian classics from my childhood.
Movies
Boyhood, Memento. I liked Perfect Days and Asteroid City recently, though I tend not to watch movies.
Books
100 years of solitude, Demian, Pedro Páramo, Il deserto dei Tartari, La storia di Tönle, Love in the time of Cholera
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Getting past my master's thesis in numerical mathematics, soul-crushing!
More recently, managing to get a blood test in a Chinese hospital, without knowing Chinese.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: italian culture/literature/cooking, mathematics (do you really want to know?), probably more :)
