Hi, I'm Leonie and I'm 19 years old. I'm originally from Germany, but right now I'm living with a hostfamily in a suburb of Boston. I'm here as an au pair, for everyone that doesn't know what it is: I live with a hostfamily as a part of their family and my job is to take care of the kids. That includes cooking for them, playing with them, doing their laundry,etc. :) I came to the US in August 2016 and I'll stay until September 2017!
So in my year I spend in the US I try to see as much as possible, but of course I don't earn enough money to spend my time in fancy hotels :) and anyway, I think staying with a local is the best way to get to know a new place and make great experiences!
Because I'm living with my hostfamily I unfortunately can't host any people. But I hope I can give back some of the awesomeness the community showed me, as soon as I'm back home.

I feel like the best way to truly get to know a new place is to spend your time there with locals! When I tried couchsurfing for the first time in Texas I had such a great time and I hope to make some more couchsurfing experiences in other states!

I used couchsurfing when I did a road trip through Texas with some friends and it was great! Unfortunately I didn't have couchsurfing by that time and that's why I don't have any references yet.

I'm an easy going and respectful person and I'm open-minded. I can offer you good conversations and tell you about my home country but I can also just be a quiet roommate if this is what you'd like in the moment :)
