Hi, I'm Leonie!
I grew up in the Netherlands but have moved to Australia early 2017. I work in Victoria as a tour guide on one-day bus tours to some of the state's main attractions - Great Ocean Road, Grampians National Park etc.
Hobby's include but are not limited to: travel, art, cinema, photography, pole dance and cooking/baking.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have enjoyed hosting many people in Amsterdam. I'm not as active at the moment, as my work can be pretty hectic.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been surfing since 2009, in the UK, Belgium, France, Italy, New Zealand and Australia. I have been hosting since I moved to Amsterdam in 2013.
The people from this community I met on my travels have made my trips unforgettable, I love everything about Couchsurfing and the people connected to it.

Interessen

Travelling - seeing other countries and learning about other cultures. Meeting new people.
I like to cook and bake and I'm always curious about food I haven't tried yet. I like to learn (bits and pieces of) new languages.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I like everything! Pop, jazz, happy folk... depends on the mood! I love music you can dance to.

I studied film so I try to watch as much as possible. Favorite movie genres would have to be fantasy and science-fiction/History/Costume/Action/Animated movies. Favorite film is 'In Bruges' (2008).

Books: Bill Bryson, J.R.R. Tolkien, George R.R. Martin,, Patrick Süßkind's "Das Parfum", Ken Follett and more.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Went on safari in East Africa and spotted four of the Big Five.
Jumped out of a perfectly good airplane.
Went scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef.
Rode into the Sahara on a camel and slept under the stars.
Climbed and descended l'Alpe d'Huez by bike four times in a row.
Started over in a new country and built a home and community there.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

Teach: I could learn you a few words Dutch. I can cook for you or give you drawing tips if you're interested.

Learn: I love to learn other languages and taste foreign food.
