About Me

Hi everyone out there!
You only realize how hard it is to answer a simple questions as "Who are you" when you are sitting in front of your screen, putting your head from one side to another and trying to think how to put a living 3D person into basic 2D words.
I am a just-turned-21 girl who learnt that what really matters is embracing life and every opportunity it gives you - as cheesy as it sounds.
I grew up in a pretty secure environment and as much as it always drew me into the big wide world, my parents and my sister will always be my home. I don't feel bonded to my original house so after my finals in 2013 I moved out for an internship in a theatre and later a few 9800 kilometers further to Nicaragua, where I started my little own adventure of 8 months in Central America composed of voluntary work and free travels.
Back home I realised that I cannot go back to my previous life (I hope other travellers understand what I mean) so I moved to the Netherlands to study something that I like to call my way of forcing "theatre and poltics" together. We'll see what happens with that...
Other than my short history I would say that I am a very outgoing, friendly and fearless woman who tries to put her life together with all that she loves: family, friends, longing for adventure, a shitload of creativity, pursuing a future that I not really planned, growing up but remaining a child, enjoy being 21 and travelling travelling travelling

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During my travels through Central America I realized what power lies in travelling itself. It brought me together with people that I - of course - never would have met back home but even if I did, I would probably not have made the "effort" to get to know them.
Travelling has the power to show you the hundred facettes and layers that are within everyone. It lifts any disguise you tried to put on you. All the wonderful people that I met during this and other journeys made the "effort" to spent a little time with me, to show me a little bit of themselves, to read me a chapter out of their life and equip me with any advise, useless as i might have sounded in the first place, they could share.
Remembering the time there are definitly moments that I was by myself and happily lost in the moment.
However, MOST good memories include other people that I could share them with. May it be minor ones like seeing the light slowly vanish in the jungle of Corcovado (CR) or bigger ones like becoming reborn in an Indian Sweathut on Ometepe (NIC).
Couchsurfing is a community that brings together people who a willing to share and show, to learn and give and to appreciate each other company for how little the time might be. I don't think there is a better from of travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books

TOUGH QUESTION COUCHSURFING TEAM!!

This List could be endless and there is really no day I don't make a note on a post-it with a title of a book/ a movie recommendation or a musician that I have to check out (according to friends and people you meet). Most of the times I find those post-it notes days, months or even years later in some jeans pocket.

I grew up along-side Harry Potter so I am kind of a geek if it comes to the 7 books. But my alltime favorites also include: Lucas, Nothing new on the Western Front, pretty much everything from Brecht and Kafka, classics like Huxely and Dostojewski. I am also into poetry and of course Ginsberg and Bukowski are only examples.

I like to watch good movies which can sometimes be hard if you don't want the too-perfect-holliwood-material.
The last good ones I saw were Whiplash and Birdman. Other I like a lot are Blue Valentine, 500 Days of Summer, Amelie, Black Swan, Silence of the lambs, Alfred Hitchcock and I love crime stories (no horror).

I listen to everything that I can feel comfortable with. And this means pretty much everything from Electro to Jazz to Indie to Classic to a lot Acoustic to some Rock/Pop. I always thought that " She moves in her own way" by the Kooks kind of fits me ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leave my comfort zone and step into the unknown.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to learn as much as I can but not maths.
I like to share everything that I was taught and somebody cares to hear about.
I like to teach that life is a once-in-a-lifetime-thing and it should not be wasted.
