About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To visit and enjoy as many people, places and things as possible

ABOUT ME

I am retired and travel with my wife (originally from France) We like meeting people and have made friends all over the world. I travel light and am not usually interested in the typical tourist sights. To me a market is as interesting as a tourist sight or museum. As a matter of fact the 1st place I like to go is a market or grocery store...there you get a real look at the people and culture.

PHILOSOPHY

You get out of life what you put in. Every day is an adventure if you want it to be.....it's your choice.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Starting in January 2011 my daughter and I plan to travel around the world before she starts her Masters Program. It is our hope that CS will become a very important part of the trip. There is no better way of learning and experiencing a country than to see it through the eyes of a native.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The experience that I have had so far had has been very positive. What I like most is that when you meet another CS you automatically have much in common.

Interests

Cooking, travel, Soccer (football), conversation, reading, playing guitar and an occasional round of golf.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Glaciers falling into the sea to create icebergs in S. Chile, Florida hurricanes, crossing the Andes in the back of a pick-up truck, served on a submarine when younger, visited China before everyone had cars and foreigners were still an attraction.
