🕘 **Morning departure**
I'm making plans the whole day, and this will be my very first time traveling with a tent. I hope everything goes well… maybe not 😂. Let’s just hope I stay alive and enjoy every moment.
My friend just warned me by showing me a news article about a girl who went missing while camping… with a PYTHON found next to her shoes! 😱🐍
This 16-day holiday will feel like a blink when I come back and check this post. I'm so, so tired from **three months of non-stop teaching** (I love my kids 😆 though—one of them is cycling around Taiwan now… super inspiring, and he still turned in his wonderful assessment! Proud ❤️).
When I return, only **two months left** until I finish the school year and embrace the **long summer break**! It will also mark my **one-year journey in Chiang Mai, Thailand**. My friends have told me about **Songkran**, and I want to experience it—maybe next year!
Yesterday, I read a picture book in the library called **"Present"**, and I want to share a quote:
> ✨ Being present is treating each new experience as an opportunity.
> ✨ Being present is relishing the warmth of the sun and the sound of the rain.
Another thing that happened recently—**the earthquake in Myanmar**. It was my first time experiencing one! 🌍 Mother Nature is truly amazing. I was expecting cracks on the ground… shaking buildings… but thankfully, everything was fine.
Lately, I **need so much sleep** 🛌. I fall asleep on my sofa **every day** right after I get home. Also… I’m **obsessed** with 🍫 **chocolate ice cream** from a Japanese dessert shop (we visited it too much lately 🤣). I've eaten **four big boxes** of their ice cream… it’s crazy. So delicious, but definitely not good for my body 😅. At least I shared some with my **ant amigos** 🐜🐜🐜.
On another note, **I'm still struggling with swimming** 🏊. I feel discouraged and lack confidence—I'm so scared of water. My teacher asked, **"How much time do you actually spend on swimming?"** And I had nothing to say… because I only take **one 1-hour lesson per week** and practice **one hour beforehand**. I hope I can overcome this fear **by the end of June** 😤💪.
A positive thing—I've started watching **YouTube videos** 📺! One of my favorite journalists is super active there, making amazing interviews and documentaries. I’ve also started following **van life, boat life, and nomadic life YouTubers**. It’s helping me expand my horizon and not focus only on **Mandarin-speaking content**.
📚 **I need to read more!** I haven’t updated my book review account for **over a year**.
Also… I’m **braver and more confident** now! I accidentally led a **student team at school**, and we always lost the games 😅. Sometimes I felt disappointed, but I will be **confident** and do a great job **without overthinking**! I'm glad they called us **"The Chill Team"** 😂.
Finally… I **said goodbye to my VIVO phone** 📱. I've been using it since **summer 2019**, just before my graduation. I dropped it **thousands of times**, broke the screen **twice**, and replaced the cable **more than ten times**. It became super slow to charge… so it was time for an upgrade. My new phone doesn’t have a great camera, but at least **it’s affordable and lets me download YouTube and Google stuff easily**—huge improvement!
🌡️ **It's getting hotter day by day**. I can barely survive with my **fan** in **37°C weather** and the door closed (**bad air quality** 😷). It reminds me of the **humid and hot days in HK**, living in my tiny apartment. My AC broke, but I didn’t use it anyway. I remember buying a **cheap fan**, and every night, I couldn't fall asleep because it was too hot. I’d wake up at midnight, waiting for the salty sea wind to blow through my curtains. I only survived after my friends lent me their **good fan**. It’s a nice memory. **Standing on this earth and experiencing all these cherishable moments… I'm grateful for what I have**. 😊🌏
I **strongly feel** that **2025 will be a great year for my growth**. **Unstoppable.** 🚀🔥

Hello lovely people, I'm back. I recovered from my injury and the last two weeks, I'm back on the wall (climbing) and water (swimming). There's still something wrong with my knee, but I felt very happy to be able to do some sports again. I'm sorry for not replying to some messages and won't be available to share my room now, since I want some personal time to build my own life and stay mentally strong and stable. And I started to enjoy the time when I'm alone, doing a lot of stuff, which I could hardly bear before.
While anyway, I need some connections with humans and nature, so that's why I'm here posting some random self-talk. It's getting really hard to make good friends these days with everything that took place on our screen, especially for people like me, who move to different places frequently (1-3 years). Friendships and being heard and understood always mean a lot to me. And I enjoy talking and getting to know different human beings.
I worked very hard and am kinda struggling with my teacher training program these days. But, good news is I got a super good mentor and supportive school and there's only 2 months (8 weeks) left for me to finish my study. I don't know (I truly doubt) whether this qualification will guarantee a teaching job for me in the UK, but it's not my original plan anyway. Since I really want to live and travel in Europe in the near future (3-5 years later maybe), I am also thinking a lot these days about learning some other skills. I'm interested in psychology and would like to work in a school environment and like to work with kids, so I'm thinking of being a SEND teacher or school counsellor or nanny, babysitter. While I'm also thinking of learning something practical, such as working on the boat, becoming a sailor or captain (if I'm capable enough), or something related to outdoor sports or physical training... (My friend just talked about the Spartan 10k and 21k competition, and we all think of joining and will start some training now). Plus, I don't know why, somehow, I guess my passion and curiosity about music or instruments strongly motivated me to consider buying or renting a piano. It started from that day, at the second-hand market, I saw that second-hand Yamaha piano, two of them, 60k and 90k each free delivery... I checked my pocket, and it was hard to make a decision. It will be super cool to play piano for hours and hours. Just play in the dark in my apartment. Good meditation... I'll figure this out.
Anyway, YES, I'm planning a motorbike camping and hiking road trip from Chiangmai to the South or to Lao-Thai border, depends on the air quality, together with my friends for the first two weeks of April. Mainly will visit the National Parks on motorbike and camping in the mountains. It's kinda scary to ride motorbikes at night on the mountains, we just did it and small incidents happened, so I'm looking for some friends who have the same interests to join. While, I didn't buy a tent yet and need to make some preparation of course for the trip. Everything will be super low budget, since I'm broke. (Need to save money for my tuition fee and all my money-burning hobbies). Anyway, feel free to get in touch and join. You can go with me and my friends or with me, depends on the plan. I'm very easy-going and strong, by the way, which I mean, I'm a good travel buddy :)! You need to have or rent your motorbike and have or rent a tent, and share the food and gas and everything. You need to love hiking and mountains and be open-minded! By the way, Songkran festival is around the corner, get ready to be wet on our motorbike trip, must be fun! I'm so excited about this. At night or during day time, we normally just hike, chill, watch movies, talk, and do nothing—just relax.

Hello there! 😊
Hi people, sorry for not replying. I fell off my motorcycle and injured my knee. My life is very messy. I am trying to get everything on track now and start to do the hosting. Feb 5th. :P Enjoy your trip:)
I'm Li, originally from China, and currently, I'm working in Chiang Mai as a language teacher. I've lived in Beijing for six years, Hong Kong for two years, and Shenzhen for one year.
I have a passion for nature and sports, and I enjoy watching all kinds of movies and writing in my journal. I play the guitar and ukulele, and I'm currently learning swimming and rock climbing. I will go Rock Climbing on Saturdays in Old Town, Main Wall.
I majored in Education and Chinese Language and Literature. I absolutely love teaching and spending time with kids. I will finish my PGCE with iQTS teaching certificate by the UK government this summer 2025! I can do this!!! Finally!! 2 years!
For year 2025, my goal is to focus on myself, currently I don't want to and not ready to get involved in any romantic relationships. Friendships are good, let's talk and enjoy the lovely present.
