About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn as much about different cultures and different people as possible!

ABOUT ME

I'm a kind, quirky, free-spirited, intelligent person with a big heart and a knack for adventure. Also, they would probably say I can be laid-back. It's about the balance between adventure and home. I do love to meet new people and explore new things. My favorite thing about this world is that the only thing we all have in common is that we are all so vastly different. It is a beautiful, though sometimes a complicated, thing. And it is definetly worth embracing. I am definetly non-judgmental.

A thing I have gotten a lot lately is that I remind people of Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter haha I take this as a mighty compliment! She is wise and dances to her own tune, while bringing spirit to the people around her.

PHILOSOPHY

The circle of love. It's as easy as that, do for others what you would wish them to do for you. Simple right? Kindergarten lessons really do mean something! You do not need to agree with everyone or even like everyone, but love everyone, and do not judgement or seek revenge. "Any eye for only makes the whole world blind"-Ghandi

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm not sure I can host right now, but I am more than willing to grab a coffee, a dessert, or something as such if your in Paris!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't surfed or hosted yet, but I have friends who have had wonderful experiences with the program!

Interests

FOOD. I absolutely love food. I cook a lot. No matter where I travel, I am always looking for the dish of the town. I want to try as many different foods as I can, and learn about them as well. James Beard, an age old food critic, once stated, "food is our common ground, a universal experience." I love this quote. In a lot of ways, food is life. It fuels us, both mentally and physically. And food says so much about the culture from which it comes. We can learn about each other through the foods of our homelands as well as the foods we ourselves choose to eat.

I do like things other than food. I spend time exploring. I like to see things! And get to know wherever I am, the places, the people, the beauty. Right now I live in Paris and velib (bike) everywhere. It is fantastic. Living in New York City and Paris, I've spent a lot of time in museums. I think they are a great way to learn about the history of a place, a people, or just take time to see interesting things (it also can make you feel like your time traveling :P to a different world, just for a little while). I write, draw (... try to at least hah).

Love spoken word. Love live performance. Anything engaging really.
Spending time with people is important. Sharing memories, histories, and plain old crazy fun times! Being silly makes the world a better place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Simple things really. They are the ones that count.
Lying on a dock at night with a friend, in the springtime in Annecy, staring at the stars and the faint outline of the snow tipped French Alps, talking about life and beauty.
Working at a bakery during the hurricane scare in NYC 2011, when the people were lined out the door for 4 straight hours as if Y2K were happening... then running out of bread and having people order as many brownies as possible believing that would be the best source of food for riding out a storm.

There are more that aren't coming directly to mind, so stay tuned...
