ABOUT ME

A university student from the United States just curious about the world and its inhabitants. I was born in California, moved to Kansas when I was 12, and now live in Connecticut where I am studying political science and linguistics.

I've described as thoughtful, calculated, and as a listener. I enjoy talking to people, but I think I enjoy listening more. I think listening is what a lot of people lack. Often times we listen with the intent to reply, hardly ever for the sake of just listening.

I love to take leaps of faith into the unknown. I enjoy the outdoors and love getting lost in places where I feel like I'm the only person that exists. There's something special about being alone, yet not feeling lonely. My friends say I like to keep it real, meaning I tell people the truth and how things really are. Sugar-coating the reality is not a favorite past-time of mine.

PHILOSOPHY

"Always live at the bottom, even when you're at the top."

I try and stay grounded as much as I can. It's easy to get carried away in your personal belongings, how much money you have/stock you own/etc, but to me, all that is superficial. The things worth it in life are the things that have no value to them, and those, by definition, you can't buy. That's what I'm after.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have couch-surfed a grand total of two times, but they have been tremendous experiences. I have already learned so much and my mind has been opened to new frontiers I'd never before considered. CouchSuring is a great way to meet people with ideas you would've never come up with yourself. It's the #1 way to see who people really are.
