ABOUT ME

I am a 22 year old male living currently in montreal. I am presently pursuing a career as a prize fighter but making money managing a local magazine shop. I hope to be able to take some time of in the future in an attempt to experience completely different worlds. I hope to use CS to meet new people and experience the culture from a local point of view. I hope to also find some gyms in the areas I visit to enrich my training.

PHILOSOPHY

I am very interested in studying and learning about the religions of the world. Although I have not chosen one of my own, a spiritual teacher I have studied with for a few years now once told me that the best way to serve God is to serve his creation. Without opening the can of worms that is the God debate, I don't see any faults in living my life in service of others.

The same man also told me that the mind is easily tricked, by the ego and the material world, and that for truth we should listen to what our heart tells us. This year I made a promise to follow what my heart says and to use it when faced with decisions as opposed to analyzing the situation mentally.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently incapable of hosting, but once my living arrangement changes I hope to open my house to other surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not hosted nor surfed but have met many surfers and have had friends who both hosted and surfed. Everything I have seen/heard of the experience has been amazing!

Interests

I enjoy playing music and I can play many instruments (guitar,drums various percussion, violin and trumpet) I love to play music with others.
I am a fairly active person with a (playfully) competitive side.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love any animal attack movies (such as: Jaws, Jaws 3, Orca and the like) If it involves a marine animal terrorizing people I can dig it. The more far fetched the story line, the higher the chances I will like it. I also really enjoy old Bruce Lee and Jean Claude Van Damm films. The majority of the films I like to watch are actually quite terrible.

Books: I read mostly Non-Fiction although as of late I have been making more of an effort to read fiction. Some of my favourites are; Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut, 20,000 Leagues under the Sea by Jules Verne, The Alchemist, Fighter's Heart/Fighter's Mind by Sam Sheridan. I also really like reading the biographies of great people throughout history because I believe to be great we have to learn from others. (and my desire to learn from others is what lead me to this site and organization)
