my name is Lesya and I’m a journalism student at RSU. i’m all into writing and media work - every essay, article or even poem I write makes me feel that my opinion matters to people.

i work as a journalist and a news editor at our local media called TVNET! and i teach languages too 🇬🇧 / 🇱🇻

i volunteer a lot. usually I help out during movie festivals like Baltic Pearl or ARTDOCFEST. youth work is also quite important to me - letting young people know about the opportunities the EU gives and building a more educated society are some of my life goals. and exploring the world myself by hosting or/and taking part (in) some projects (Erasmus+) , and, obviously, meeting new people is something I cherish.

i adore to read. i read Bronte’s works, Camus’s masterpieces, Tolstoy’s HUGE novels. currently am reading Dumas’s “The Count of Monte Cristo” and engulfing myself in every adventure Dantès joins. i always carry a book in my tote bag - when i’m not studying or creating lesson plans, I find a nice spot that serves coffee and just open my book.

i do film photography - but it’s mostly for fun. and collect vinyl as a family tradition 🎵

Music, Movies, and Books

PVRIS is my favorite band on earth. i visited their gigs tons of times and that’s my happiest place on earth. i adore AURORA too and also am “tailing the artist” through Europe on her upcoming tour 🫰

i am also a huge fan of 70s-80s music, so a karaoke is possible! my mum raised a Depeche Mode and Roxette fan (me)

i have tons of favourite movies. “Dead Poets Society” and “Love Actually” are some of them. also i adore movies that star Audrey Hepburn in them 💛 as I volunteer on movie festivals, I am always up for a movie discussion or a movie night!

as for the books - one of the books that kept me hooked is “Arc of Triumph” by Remark. i truly adore his works. currently I am reading “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” (basic, ik), but I am always open for book recommendations and!! bookstore locations in your town ✨
