About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to realize my dreams, develop new passions, and make a positive impact on community

ABOUT ME

I was chased by a homeless guy with a stick around Buenos Aires on Christmas Day. Sometimes things just happen.

I'm a naturally curious person. I can spend too much time looking at a map of a foreign country, then googling questions I have, which leads to more questions... it's a vicious cycle that usually leads to procrastination when I really should just go to sleep.

On a more normal note (if I haven't already convinced you that I'm weird), my family is from Taiwan, but I was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN. Looks like I'll be staying here indefinitely...

I enjoy cooking (browny points if you can cook), bakeries, fried foods, and trying local cultural cuisines. Given what I just said, I'm surprised I'm not 50 lbs heavier.

PHILOSOPHY

Treat your friends and family well and be kind to strangers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been hosted on a few occasions during my travels. I have had nothing but great experiences and would like to give back by hosting in my hometown.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing experience (thru hospitalityclub) was in 2008 during my first trip to Europe. I made many new friends - some of I still keep in touch with today - had great experiences, and discovered the meaning of couchsurfing.

Interests

I love outdoor activities: hiking, scuba diving, bungee jumping, basketball, rollerblading, grilling, etc...

On weekends, you can find me in the bar/dance scene in downtown minneapolis or uptown having a good time with friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Against the Gods - The Remarkable Story of Risk, Inception, Harry Potter, Persepolis

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently bought my mom a smartphone and I've been trying to teach her how to use it - I now understand the true meaning of patience.

I've been financially sponsoring orphans abroad so that they can have a place to sleep and food to eat. I do this every year. It's one small difference I can make in someone's life.

On a more adventurous note, I use to work for an airline company, which gave its employees free flights. I took advantage of this and traveled the world (almost for free!) - most amazing time of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English, Chinese (Mandarin), Taiwanese

I can try to cook some Chinese dishes for you - no guarantees that it'll taste good though.
