About Me

I'm a cheerful and curious person, and the more I learn about the world the more I want to travel and get to know it better.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe sharing an experience with friends makes it more special, so getting to know people from the places I visit definitely adds a lot to any trip. I'm on Couchsurfing because it allows people from all over the world to connect and share enjoyable moments.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh, so many! For all of them I go from the classics to the most recent ones in a blink!

Music: Rock is a constant in my life, but I grew up playing the piano and listening to almost everything. To name a few: The Beatles, Elvis, Louis Armstrong, Queen, Abba, Foo Fighters, The Offspring, The Slackers, The Killers, The Lumineers, Cake, Taylor Swift, Imagine Dragons, John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Tchaikovsky, Bach, Disney classics...

Movies: From musicals to sci-fi! The Fiddler on the Roof, Les Mis, Star Wars, Dirty Dancing, Mamma Mia (both!), Marvel ones, Wonder Woman, The Beauty and the Beast, Disney and Pixar in general, The Help, The Wizard of Oz.

Books: Several, although I haven't read as much as I wish lately. Jane Austen, Douglas Adams, Les Mis, Harry Potter, Wild, Brooklin, Oh, the places you go!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A recent thing I'm pretty proud of is driving across the United States by myself, coast to coast, from California to Maryland. I defended my PhD thesis in December 2019 in San Diego, California and would start a job in January 2020 in Maryland. Since I had a car and several boxes to carry, I decided to go by car, stopping everywhere in between. I spent 20 days on the road.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Portuguese, Brazilian culture, a little bit about my work and research (waste landfills and the environment).
I would love to learn about the place I'm staying and it's culture, people's different points of view, and anything else my host/hostess would like to share!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversations, experiences, good stories and a cheerful attitude.
