About Me

**** First of all, I'M NOT HERE FOR DATING. Please, if that's what you're looking for, download Tinder or other apps. Couchsurfing is not for this!*****

Now, let me tell you a little about myself...

My name is Letícia and I'm 29. As it’s expected from someone creating a profile here, I love connecting with people from different cultures, exploring new places, and learning with them. Curiosity is a drive that we should never stop following.

As a journalist, I naturally thirst for learning about various things. Writing is my passion, whether journalistic pieces, poems, reflections, or stories.

Photography is another great love of mine. Through it, I seek the extraordinary in the ordinary, finding poetry and beauty in the small fragments of life. When I travel, it’s my number one companion, helping me discover new places through my lens.

Also, I strongly oppose any form of intolerance or prejudice. Traveling teaches us this: there is always something to learn from others, no matter how different they may seem from us. In the end, we’re all human.

I’m vegan because I believe environmental causes are crucial, especially when climate change continues to advance. That’s why I’m always happy when I travel and find a vegan spot to try a dish of the local cuisine.

My biggest dream is to travel around the world with just a laptop, lots of ideas, and the desire to live a life full of freedom.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m here because I know the world is incredible and I want to explore every little piece of it. But traveling isn’t just about discovering the external, visible things. It's also about meeting people and learning about their inner worlds.

This platform makes exactly that possible: an exchange between strangers, where both believe in kindness above all and are willing to use the best currency there is: connecting with others who seek the freedom of traveling beyond the norms, who understand that travel is more than just about places, it's about looking at yourself and others.

Interests

Different cultures, music, history, politics, philosophy, literature, photography, writing...

And also the simple things: camping under a starry sky, waking up by the sea, swimming in the cold waters of a waterfall, feeling small at the top of a mountain...

But I also enjoy a big city and its nightlife: drinking beer, dancing until dawn, and connecting with its multicultural vibe.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I listen to a lot of different things. I enjoy music in languages like French and Spanish, and of course, Brazilian music: samba, bossa nova, MPB... Brazil has so much great music! I switch between decades, languages, and styles, but I usually stick to the 60s and 70s, sometimes the 90s. It depends! Today, as I’m updating this profile, I’ve gone from Tchaikovsky to Manu Chao to New Order.

Books: When I was younger, I loved dystopias and medieval fantasy. Later, I started reading more books on history, politics, and related themes. For 2025, my reading list might carry an aura of existential crisis: Camus, Sylvia Plath, Kafka, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Sartre, among others.

Movies: I enjoy films that make me reflect on life, usually dramas. I confess I haven’t watched much lately.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I quit my job and everything in Brazil to live in France for a year, with a basic level of French, and work in restaurants—something I had never done before. In the end, it became the most incredible experience of my life. I learned a new language, made a lot of friends, and, most importantly, discovered so much about myself.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share some Brazilian foods (in their vegan version) and drinks, like caipirinha.

I can teach you a little about our amazing culture. Brazil is a huge country, and each state has its own unique culture.

I'm an open-minded person, and I love learning everything this world has to offer!
