About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To not just experience this life, but to create positive change, even if it's just putting a smile on someone's face.

ABOUT ME

I'm very open-minded, & fully subscribe to the "live-and-let-live" philosophy. & I love traveling to new places to see how others live. I'm also very bad at describing myself on an online profile... I suppose my friends would describe me as slightly quirky, always good for a laugh(even if its at myself), and ALWAYS up for an adventure. I'm very easy-going and can get along with anybody.

PHILOSOPHY

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime."

"Not all who wander are lost."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to surf the website & plan trips around people I'd love to meet. :-) & I'm always promoting couchsurfing to my friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Traveled to Osaka & had an amazing time with my 2 hosts during my stay.

Interests

My life goal is pretty simple: see & do everything I possibly can. I love meeting new people, experiencing new cultures, & especially trying new foods. My hobbies are hiking/backpacking/camping, rock climbing, skiing, skydiving, kayaking/canoeing, and pretty much anything else outdoors. I also love making jewelry, taking pictures, cooking, and shopping at second-hand stores. & of course TRAVELING! This only really scratches the surface of my hobbies, and I am always adding to the list.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Forrest Gump, Avatar, The Lion King, Ferngully

Music: Too eclectic to list here. Right now I'm really into Blues, Funk, Jazz, & Soul

Books: I'm a book junkie, I'll read just about anything except cheezy romance novels. My favs: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Count of Monte Cristo, Frankenstein, The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood, anything by Michael Crichton(esp. Jurassic Park), anything by Ken Follet(esp. Pillars of the Earth), & the Hunger Games trilogy. Just to name a few.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wow.. so many to choose from. When I lived in Yosemite National Park "awestruck" moments happened all the time. The view from the top of a cliff, seeing a bear in the wild, standing at the edge of rain-swollen waterfalls, the scenery & silence of a snow covered meadow while back-county skiing... the list could go on forever. Everywhere I go I see something amazing, which is why I want to go everywhere!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share traditional southern American cooking, and stories of typical southern American families. I'll share stories from my adventures, from California to Washington, Philadelphia to Florida, England and France, and living in Korea. & I eagerly await your stories as well!
