ABOUT ME

I'm a very open minded, friendly and nice guy :) I have pretty good communication skills, I'm very helpful, and attentive to people. I'm very open to new places, people and cultures. When it comes to traveling, I don't care about my comfort. As long as I get to see new places, and meet new people I'm happy to sleep on the couch/floor/garden/haystack/beach( if it's allowed :)/etc, etc :)

I'm a graduate student studying computer engineering, so when I work I'm almost all the time in front of a computer, developing software or configuring things. I find my work to be very interesting, and mentally challenging so It occupies a central point in my life. But after I'm done with work, I love to challenge myself physically as well. I love sports so I try to work out as much and as often as I can. I play Basketball, Tennis, soccer, table tennis, badminton, I swim, ski, snowboard, bike, run and much more. I also spend my time playing the guitar, reading, watching a good movie or taking a walk.
One of the things that I love to do the most though is traveling( who doesn't right? :) ) It all started with hiking when I was very young. I loved nature from when I was very little, so I hiked a lot of the mountains of my home country Romania. After I got older, I started visiting other countries as well and what attracted me the most about them was the different cultures and that I had the chance to get to know people from those cultures. It is such an adventure for me to go to a totally unfamiliar city and get to know it with the help of a local person. Travel guides can show you the most know spots, the ones everyone gets to see, but only the local people know the most fun places ;) I've traveled to many countries in Europe, some of them I visited many times( Croatia 4x and still want to go there :)), and I've also been to the biggest US cities. In the future I'm planning on going to more exotic places like South America, Indonesia, China, Japan, Australia. Hopefully couch surfing can help me accomplish these dreams :)

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

So far my every visit to Croatia had at least one moment which left me awestruck. The towns, the beaches, that Mediterranean atmosphere is incomparable to anything that I've experienced so far. I kept going back there in the past 4 years but I still can't get enough of that country.
Paris was the city that mesmerized me from the first time that I've seen it. It is so romantic, artistic, adventurous, diverse and again it's streets, people and atmosphere are so appealing to me. I went back there two time so far and I could easily imagine myself living there in the future.
When it comes to US cities, New York is on the top of my list for 5 years now, followed closely by Boston and Chicago a little further back. The cultural diversity of New York is so interesting to me. I love being among so many different cultures and getting to know people from all over the world. I love the fact that you can literally find anything at any time there and that it never sleeps! I will never forget that moment when I first arrived in the US and while on the plane approaching the JFK airport I took a look at the big apple's lights at night. I've never seen something like that before or after that :)
