I'm on couch surfing to strategically take of the world. I want to learn about the culture of different places on this great planet of ours, and I don't believe that you can do that by renting out a hotel room. It is of no value to me to watch culture as if it is a side show; much like listening to classical music while riding an elevator to the 5th floor of a shopping mall. If you love someone you have to live with them. And because culture is alive and living it only makes sense that we live in it if we wish to truly get to know it. We need to be actively listening if we wish to hear it. I'm lucky something like couch surfing exists. I'm luck I get to live and learn this way

兴趣

For the past 13 years of my life I've been playing cello. That's nothing to sniff at; but the truth is I'm not as good at it as I would like to be. I enjoy playing the cello. I enjoy making music, and I would be more than happy to teach you what I know if I ever find myself in your household.

Backpacking:
I went Backpacking in the Ocala State forest in Florida with Molly. The experience was breathtaking. On the last night the January moon started to rise over the horizon. I let my eyes tear up. I was so bewildered by the experience of living outside with what I could carry on my back. I was so humbled by the majesty of the earth, her vegetation, the animals and the bugs, and the never ending cycle of life. I was in awe. And I was so excited to be spending time with someone who I hold so dear. It all made me realize something.

I shouldn’t be afraid of the impending future. I shouldn’t be frightened by what the goal may be. Whether my dreams manifest or not, all is coming in time. I left school to find my way through the woods without the help of the beaten path and see the stars waiting for me just beyond the trees. I left school to simplify my life and find myself gaining from being rather than from buying. I came onto this path knowing that I’d built my life up to be something astronomical. And I walk this path to build the foundations beneath those dreams I have built so high.

Yoga:
I broke down in tears during my 200 hr RYT. It was a real surprise to me. these are the emotions I had then.

I Feel: Incomplete. And ready for the next step. This first week of yoga teacher training was amazing. I was so scared of so many things. I was afraid that I was going to be the only person not to cry during the first week. I felt heartless and callous, and not a part of the group and felt that I couldn’t be unless I cried. Funny, cause on day 9 of training–the last day–I decided that I didn’t need to cry to be a part. That same day I got smacked in the face by this exercise where we were required to tell each other how we feel…about anything. I’m not sure what it was or what kind of emotion came flying out of my when I teared up, but it took over. And I balled my heart out. I don’t know why. I just felt vulnerable… I was a powerful mix of emotions and energy. More powerful than anything that I’ve ever felt. I felt like I was resonating…Like a GONG!! Struck with force and intention–reverberating infinitely. The tears weren’t pain. I’m not really sure what it was yet. But I feel like I connected with myself and with everyone there. And I really do feel like I’m falling behind. I’m so glad I followed yoga, and I’m so glad I became a part of this journey. Because it was so dark before, but now I feel like I can see the sun setting over the horizon. Just off in the distance palpitating with color bleeding energy onto the clouds. And I’m going to follow it. Always. After all, it’s been waiting for me….
