PHILOSOPHY

I like this quote by Paul of Tarsus: "For the letter kills, but the spirit brings life." To me this means that legalism dismisses the individual, when the individual is what matters most.

I've couch surfed only once but it was a memorable experience.

I want to spend an extended period again outside my country of origin.

I admit I will watch a bad movie if the special effects are good. Documentaries hold my interest (such as Children Underground, Promises). I like movies based on true events (Le scaphandre et le papillon).

Some music artists I have liked include Indochine, Globus, Ani DiFranco, Calogero, Damien Rice, Sarah McLachlan, E.S. Posthumus, Cake, Nine Inch Nails, K-Pop, many others. Generally I don't like country music or rap.

I like to read about history, science, religion, biographies/memoirs. Authors I have enjoyed include Gore Vidal, Sam Harris, Bart Ehrman, Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, Daniel Tammet, Yuval Noah Harari
