Music, Movies, and Books

In arts I like everything that would seem to me aesthetic, meaningful and inspiring: I don't set limits in genres and forms.

My favourite musician is Soviet/Russian singer and poet Yegor Letov. In the middle 80s he created his experimental garage band that had a rich history: from being persecuted by Soviet authorities to becoming the post-punk/rock legend. At some point his music made me to start changing.
I also like Siberian rock, Soviet late 80s underground music, American and UK 60s and 70s rock, ambient, folk and many other genres. The value of music does not lie in the genre actually, but in its meanings, and feelings that it evokes, so I also have many favourite songs in absolutely different styles, and I am ready to explore new artists and bands!

I like unusual films, strange ones, closer to arthouse, although they are not always at least a little understandable. I haven't actually watched so many films, but I am open to different genres.

For me, literature is the main source of knowledge and important source for diving into culture. I read both fiction and non fiction. When I talk about favourite books, the first things that come to mind are novels by Jorge Luis Borges. I've read more than Borges' novels, but his works impressed me the most. He creates unique spaces full of geometricism, labyrinths, mirrors, spaces that can only be found in dreams. I like reading classics (in a broad meaning), from Homer to modern postmodern works: these things formed the basement of our culture and reflected it the most.
