About Me
I'm a young scotsman with a good sense of humour and I love experiencing new things. I enjoy the excitement of uncertainty and variety. I want to travel the world and make a network of friends in every continent.
One of the more interesting things I like to do is keep a thought journal of my thoughts, feelings, ideas, experiences, recipes, drawings , dreams! and most of my life. I've heard it said before that 'If life is worth living, it's worth recording' and I like the sound of that. I know that one day I may be in a care home, wearing adult diapers and not able to remember my name but I'll be able to read over my life story and maybe recover some old fond memories.
I love exploring the Scottish highlands and staying a few nights in "Bothy's" which are small stone buildings that are free for walkers to stay in. They are normally out deep in the highlands and have fireplaces and spots to put camping mats down.
My home is in Glasgow with my Mother (Morven) and my Sister (Bethany). We stay in a small house in the suburbs and we have a small Jack Russell dog named 'Josie'. Me, Morven and Bethany have quite a close relationship we enjoy reading together, going out for or preparing meals, walking, and my sister and I play music together. When we jam she plays the piano or the ukelele and I play the guitar.
I was the front man in a band for 6 years. Me and my 4 friends performed in Glasgow every couple of weeks as well as going on tour twice around the UK and over to Dublin in Ireland. We were a five piece punk/indie band with a lot of energy. We were called 'Veto.' and our best music is on our EP 'Where Does It Go?' which you can find on Spotify and Youtube. Unfortunately we have decided to put a pause on things because I am eager to see more of the world.
I've had many different jobs but my favourite have been my current job and my summer job last year. In Glasgow I work as a stage crew member building and rigging stages at a popular warehouse venue called SWG3. Last summer I worked for my mother in her Gardening business; I love being outside and with nature. On the side I also cycle courier, which keeps me very fit cycling delivering food for 5-8 hours a day.
I'm very interested in fitness and well being. Healthy Body/ Healthy Mind!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I remember the day well. I was in Berlin, Germany and I had arrived the day before. I had intended to meet my friend Cass when I got off the plane but I heard nothing from him until 2 days after my arrival. I had walked into a cafe in Kruezberg to have some soup, and it was quite busy so I sat down at a table that had other people sitting at it. In front of me was a girl in her own world on her phone and I noticed that she had the same food as me, so I thought I would just make one little human connection, and I asked her "How's the food?". She briefly looked up from her phone and said that it was good and then returned back to her world on her phone. So I pulled out my phone to put on some music and then the girl across from me began to talk to me. The conversation flowed very easily, she told me she was from Mexico and her name was Ireri - which meant princess. I told her who I was and my story of why I was in Berlin. After a long and lovely lunch together she got up to leave. She had a think for a moment before she did though and then told me that if I signed up to Couchsurfing.com then she would allow me to stay with her that night. I thanked her and said I would. Later that night we ate home made salad together for dinner in her flat. I stayed with her one more night before I went home to Glasgow with a different view upon the kindness of strangers.

I've only recently discovered my love for reading but now I see its value, or the value of the ideas within books. Books I've read that I've thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend would be; Unlimited Power - Tony Robbins, The Power of Now - Eckhart Tolle, Recover: Freedom From Our Addictions - Russell Brand, The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fuck - Mark Manson, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People - Stephen R. Covey, As A Man Thinketh - James Allen. Most of my reading (so far) has been Non-Fiction based but I do love listening to Audiobooks especially to writers like David Sedaris who writes terrifically funny and charming tales and observations.
Favourite movies; Pans Labyrinth (El laberinto del fauno), La Belle Verte and The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty.
