Overview
About Me
I'm on a bit of work holiday/hiatus currently up at a fishing lodge on Haida Gwaii, BC. I'm on my way down to Chiliwack/Abbotsford for work at a nearby hop farm. In search of a temporary bed or couch while I find a longer-term spot in the area. If you can help out that'd be awesome!
I was born in a big country town on the east coast of Australia.
I grew up playing AFL, fishing, hiking, snowboarding (yes you heard right!), and falling off my skateboard and mountain bike.
I love a good BBQ drinking around the pool with mates and music.
I'm a very tidy guy, easy to get along with, and always up for a social outing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined to share my house and adventures with friends backpacking around Australia. Now that I'm in Canada I'm keen to meet some folks and explore BC!
Interests
I enjoy any outdoor or fitness-based activity: hiking, tennis, rock climbing, snowboarding... basically anything that makes me feel healthier makes me happier.
I strum the guitar from time to time (if you want a sub par rendition of Maggie May look no further).
I am really into craft beer and after a few stints homebrewing with a mate I'm hooked.

Music, Movies, and Books
I actually mainly listen to podcasts like Joe Rogan, How I Built This, My Dad Wrote a Porno (hilarious!).
Arctic Monkeys, Boy and Bear, The War On Drugs, Ziggy Alberts, Flume, Future Islands,
Of the books I've read Shantaram by Gregory Roberts is probably the stand out. I'd highly recommend the Ken Follett trilogy (war/love novels).
I love the films directed by Wes Anderson (The Darjeeling Limited, The Life Aquatic) but if I'm on Netflix I'll mostly search for sci-fi movies (Gravity, Back to the Future, Gattaca) or TV shows like Peaky Blinders, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast)...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Tree planting last summer in BC. There were so many highs and lows, new friends and parties, amazing landscapes and close encounters with bears...its definitely a great memory that'll stay with me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach you Pago: world's most addictive card game. Careful I don't lose!
I would love to learn how to play guitar or a language. But if you've got something to teach me I'm a quick learner.
We can share a welcome drink!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share in any work around the house that needs doing.
I've got quite the sweet tooth so I can bake some lamingtons (choc coconut covered sponge cake) if you enjoy a sugar hit too.
